Google's new Pixel smartphone has received high praise for its design, high-end specs, and the assurance it will always have the latest version of Android installed. The unlocked 32 GB Pixel is on sale for a limited time for $625 instead of its normal $649 price.
Google Ends Nexus For Pixel
Google retired its Nexus smartphone lineup this year in favor of two handsets that were built by HTC and the first under its Pixel brand. The pair were clearly created with Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in mind, with a strikingly similar design, top-of-the-line specs, and even a tool created by Google that allows users to plug an iPhone into a Pixel or Pixel XL and transfer contacts, calendar events, photos, videos, music, SMS messages, iMessages, and other data.
Verizon is the exclusive U.S. carrier partner for Google, but the company also sells the Pixel and Pixel XL unlocked, so users on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint can use the devices on those networks in addition to Verizon. Trying to find a deal on a Pixel or Pixel XL have been hard to come by, but a new sale from NewEgg is offering the 32 GB Quite Black unlocked Pixel for $624.99 instead of Google's current price of $649.
Google Pixel Specs
The Google Pixel has a premium metal and glass design that makes the handset feel solid in the hand. It packs in a 5-inch 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD AMOLED Gorilla Glass 4 display with a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. The smartphone comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, and 4 GB of RAM. Google includes 32 GB of internal storage, and it runs the latest version of Android, 7.1.1 Nougat.
Award-Winning Camera
Google did not skimp on the Pixel's camera, which received a best ever score of 89 on DxOMark Mobile. The company chose a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, laser detection autofocus, ability to capture 4K video at 30 fps, and 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies. It includes a fingerprint scanner on the back of the device and uses a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Its non-removable 2,770 mAh battery will provide up to 26 hours of talk time and up to 450 hours of standby time.
NewEgg is offering the Quite Black unlocked 32 GB Google Pixel smartphone online for $624.99 with free shipping, and this deal is good through Dec. 27.
