Super Mario Run For iPhone: Here's 4 minutes of Super Mario Run Gameplay [Video]

A Super Mario Bros. game called Super Mario Run will be landing on the screens of iPhones and iPads in mid-December.

The side-scrolling and auto-running game from Nintendo was unveiled at the Apple WWDC in June 2016 and currently it is one of the most anticipated smartphone games of this year.

Super Mario Run Gameplay

The player controls one of the four characters: Mario, Luigi, Toad or Yoshi, as they automatically run from left to right. The player has to tap on the screen to make the selected character jump. The longer the screen is touched, the higher the selected character will jump.

Super Mario Run players have to maneuver their character from hurdles and collect coins. The ultimate goal of the game is to safely get their character to the end of the level in the quickest possible time.

The game has three main parts: the World Tour mode, Toad Rally challenge mode and the Kingdom Builder mode.

Players start in the World Tour mode and they earn rally tickets and gold coins as they proceed. These rally tickets and gold coins can be used in the other two modes.

A single rally ticket is required to enter the Toad Rally challenge. Players select a level and an opponent whose performance they want to beat. The player gets a number of Toads if they succeed in defeating their opponent. Players need Toads to unlock items in the Kingdom Builder mode.

Players have the chance to explore plenty of secret worlds by taking alternate routes. A bubble button, which lets the character float backward for some time, also comes in handy. The feature is available twice per level, which makes it helpful if a player missed an important coin or when they just want to maximize the level score.

Price Of The Game

Super Mario Run will be available as a free download from the Apple App store at launch; however, players will be allowed to play just the first three levels of the Toad Rally and World Tour modes. Players would be allowed to play a 20-second demo of the fourth level in each mode.

Customers will have to pay $9.99 if they want to unlock and enjoy the entire game.

iOS And Android Availability

The iOS version of Super Mario Run will release on Dec. 15. The game will be exclusive to iOS initially but an Android version is also expected to launch sometime in 2017.
