'Persona 5' English Story Trailer Released: Meet The Phantom Thieves of Hearts As Digital Preorders Launch

The English story trailer for the highly anticipated Persona 5 was revealed at Sony's PlayStation Experience 2016, increasing the hype for the RPG.

It was recently reported that Atlus has further delayed the release date of Persona 5 in North America and Europe to April 2017. The game developer said that it will be adding free DLC to the game as an apology, and now Atlus has thrown a bone to gamers in the form of an English story trailer.

Persona 5 English Story Trailer

The English story trailer for Persona 5 opens up with a voice pushing the game's main character to release his rage by calling upon him.

The trailer then shifts to scenes from within the game as the main character walks through his school and the town, revealing that the main character is a transferring high school student. Apparently, the world is in a dire situation, and it is up to people with special powers to save it.

The voice heard at the start of the trailer is no other than the main character's Persona, which is described as "the strength born from one's heart." Using their Personas, the main character and his friends set out on a mission to bring justice not just to Japan but to the whole world as the group known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.

The main character is said to be able to enter the hearts of other people and force them to confront their true selves, which makes for a seemingly wild plot and heart-pumping story.

Persona 5 Digital Preorder Bonuses

In addition to the English story trailer, it was revealed that gamers can now digitally preorder Persona 5. For those who do, they will be able to receive a set of theme and avatars, along with interesting DLC that brings Izanagi and Izanagi Picaro to the game.

Izanagi has been a popular Persona in past games in the franchise, and the DLC will allow players to not only acquire him but also a version of the Persona that is dressed up in the same style as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.

Persona 5 will launch for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in North America and Europe on April 4, 2017.

Sony's PlayStation Experience 2016

The English story trailer for Persona 5 was just one among many games that were featured in the event. Among the most prominent ones were The Last of Us Part II, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, Wipeout: Omega Collection and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
