Samsung is quickly approaching the launch of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, which are expected in late February 2017. Some new details of the upcoming smartphones' features have been revealed.
Samsung started 2016 with a bang, as sales of its new flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 edge both received favorable reviews for both its features and premium designs, that made the pair two of the most sold smartphones of 2016.
The Galaxy Note 7 was meant to continue Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge momentum for the latter half of 2016 but just as the S7's were explosive, the Note 7 was literally explosive and was pulled from retail shelves, and then issued a complete recall. Although we discovered in the comments section of an article from October, which showed the Note 7 still maintains a loyal audience who refuse to part with their favorite handset of all time.
Samsung Plots Its Smartphone Comeback With Galaxy S8 Series
Luckily for Samsung, 2016 is close to ending and while it's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco will be felt in 2017 and beyond, it does get to make a comeback with the launch of two new flagship Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones. The handsets have been making headlines for months as Samsung plots its smartphone comeback.
New details regarding the two Galaxy S8 models expected to be released in 2017 have just leaked and shows Samsung is reportedly expected to add Harman stereo speakers to the devices.
We recently reported that the company was said to introduce this feature in 2018's Galaxy S9 and Note 9. It's believed that Samsung wants to offer a Harman dual stereo speaker setup on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, likely to match Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which are the first iPhones to feature stereo speakers and Samsung's main rival.
Two Galaxy S8 And S8 Plus Large Screen Variants To Be Released?
Current reports claim that Samsung is expected to release both a 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S8, with the S8 Plus clearly being the larger model. A bezel-less display is believed to be used on the larger handset, while a curved edge display will be used on the smaller variant. It remains to be seen if Samsung will really go this big in the screen department with next year's flagships.
