Samsung is widely rumored to be working on the next-gen version of its flagship smartphone — dubbed the Galaxy S8 — which will release in early 2017.
The Galaxy S8 is rumored to have several official accessories in the pipeline which will be along the lines of those made for its predecessor, the Galaxy S7. This news comes courtesy of online publication SamMobile.
Official Galaxy S8 Accessories
"We've now received information about the official accessories that the Galaxy S8 is going to be launched with. Aside from one new option, the upcoming flagship will more or less have the same accessories that were launched with the Galaxy S7 series earlier this year," notes the publication.
The accessories will reportedly include the traditional screen protector, as well as a Protective Cover for the Galaxy S8. The impending smartphone will also benefit from a Clear Cover along with a Clear View Cover, per the publication's reliable sources.
The LED View Cover case and a Keyboard Cover will also be launched for the much-awaited handset that will allegedly have an AI assistant called Bixby, a dual-camera setup and an iris scanner.
That is not all, Samsung smartphone fans can also look forward to a protective case that will have a premium feel thanks to the Alcantara leather. For the unfamiliar, Alcantara leather is not actually leather but a synthetic material that bears a semblance to suede. However, unlike suede, it is a lot more robust and durable, as well as stain resistant. These factors make Alcantara leather a great choice for a cover and the fact that it looks stylish and imparts a premium feel is the icing on the cake.
Multimedia Dock For Galaxy S8
The alleged official accessories for the Galaxy S8 are also said to include a new offering — a Multimedia Dock, which will offer improved connectivity options. Interestingly, the Galaxy S4 also had a somewhat similar dock offering that had HDMI and USB ports in tow.
The Galaxy S8's intended accessories are also said to include a battery Backpack that can charge the device when one is on the move. The Backpack is rumored to tout a 2600 mAh battery, which is interestingly smaller than the 3100 mAh one for the current-gen Galaxy S7's Backpack case.
Samsung is anticipated to take the wraps off its Galaxy S8 series at the MWC 2017 in February. While the official rumored accessories may excite fans, they can look forward to some more great offerings from third-party accessory makers once the handset is official.
