TV host Conan O'Brien is synonymous with comedy, and after giving us a some chuckles with his hilarious take on Apple's AirBag, not to forget the iPod commercial, he gives us a review of the impending Final Fantasy XV — Conan style!
Latest Episode Of "Clueless Gamer"
In the "Clueless Gamer" section of his hit TBS show Conan's latest episode, the comedian teamed up with Hollywood actor Elijah Wood — a massive gaming buff — to indulge in some serious gaming.
For the unfamiliar, this recurring section on the show makes fun of games and is peppered with Conan and the celebrity guest's hilarious takes on the title.
The video released to YouTube on Monday, Nov. 14, shows both confused while they try to grapple with the gameplay for Final Fantasy XV as they set about to explore the world of Eos.
Both Conan and Elijah immerse themselves in Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV and go about doing everything from shopping for a wedding dress to pushing broken-down "fancy cars" in the desert, fighting a huge monster (a very short battle at that) and riding chocobo.
The gaming session has plenty of funny liners from Conan as he questions the banality of why one should push broken cars in a game that is supposed to be magical. Or the time he sarcastically remarks there is "[n]othing like running in the dessert wearing leather." Or guys reading about dresses in the paper.
Having his fill of the game, Conan decides he has had enough and has "never been this confused" and gives his judgement — Final Fantasy XV is a sheer waste of time and the worst game ever!
Final Fantasy XV Isn't For Conan O'Brien
Some of the quips from Conan that surmise the experience:
"Why would someone play this?"
"I don't know what we achieved. I don't know what we were trying to achieve. I have no sense of satisfaction. This whole thing is like an epic blue-balls waste of time," says Conan.
Elijah is more controlled in his assessment but complains of how boring it is to merely walk and talk to people in any role-playing game — a concern for most gamers in the latest installment of the popular JRPG series perhaps?
The funniest bit is undoubtedly when the two realize that the creators of Final Fantasy XV are sitting outside and watching the events unfold!
The segment from Conan also teased Adamantoise. Beating him will take you 72 hours — real world ones.
