The nation's largest retailers are once again offering one of the most popular holiday tech items, the Sony PlayStation 4, at Black Friday discounts. Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Costco and Kohl's all have the console bundles, which include a game, on sale this Thanksgiving weekend. But which deal is the very best of the pack?
As much as Thanksgiving is an annual tradition in the U.S., so have gaming consoles become among the most popular items of the holiday shopping season. The two most popular units are the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PS4. This year the latest version of the PS4 is the PS4 Slim, and all of the nation's top sellers are offering the console on sale in the bundle configurations that have become a mainstay.
PS4 Price Drop
Last year, top retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop and Target all offered the previous version of the PS4 at $50 off the original $349 retail price. Although the $50 savings was decent, it didn't match up to the deals many of those same stores were offering on the competing Xbox One bundles. The only retailer that stepped up to the plate to offer a super bargain on the PS4 was Kohl's, which included an additional $90 in Kohl's cash (which could essentially be used in a similar way to a gift card) on top of the $299 sale price.
This year, things are different. For one, the suggested retail price of the most popular 500 GB PS4 bundles has dropped to $299. The Black Friday deals are also better than last year's on the item, with some great deals and extras to be had.

This year, Best Buy is offering the PlayStation 4 500 GB Uncharted 4: A Thief's End bundle along with two free games, The Last of Us: Remastered and Ratchet & Clank, for $249.
Costco, meanwhile, is offering the same bundle without the two free games for $279, which indicates smart shoppers should pass on that deal.
Target has the same bundle for $249, which is a bit better priced but still doesn't have the two free games on offer at Best Buy.
Walmart, however, has a deal worth noting: the Uncharted bundle is on sale for the same $249, but with an additional $30 gift card thrown in, bringing the constructive price to $219.
But it's Kohl's that wins the prize again this year for best PS4 bundle deal. The retailer is offering the Uncharted bundle for $249 in a door buster deal that includes $75 in Kohl's cash, leading to a constructive price of just $175 in total and qualifying as the best PS4 deal of Black Friday 2016.
The runnerups are Best Buy and Walmart, depending on whether one prefers two free games or a $30 gift card, respectively.
