'Designed By Apple In California,' A New Book That Features 450 Photos Of iPhones, iPods And Other Apple Creations

Apple has been around for a long time and has developed several devices and software up to this very day. It simply means the company is filled with a lot of history, and it's now prepared to share some of that with the entire world, for a cost, of course.

The company has designed a new hardbound book that is filled with 20 years of Apple's hardware design history. The book contains around 450 photos highlighting some of the most known devices from the early stages of design to the finished product.

In Honor Of Steve Jobs

The book is called "Designed by Apple in California," and from what we have come to understand, it's dedicated to the late Apple cofounder and CEO, Steve Jobs. The book will go on sale come Nov. 16 for $199 and $299, seeing as it comes in two sizes. The sizes are 10.20 inches x 12.75 inches for $199, and 13 inches x 16.25 inches for $299.

Apple did not state if there will be a digital version of the books. Seeing as it's all about photos, we wouldn't rule this out in the coming months or years.

"The idea of genuinely trying to make something great for humanity was Steve's motivation from the beginning, and it remains both our ideal and our goal as Apple looks to the future," said Jony Ive, Apple's chief design officer. "This archive is intended to be a gentle gathering of many of the products the team has designed over the years."

8 Years In The Making

Apple claims the book has been printed using specially milled, custom-dyed paper that also comes with silver edges. Furthermore, the book was designed over an eight-year period and is being published by Apple and not a third-party company.

Now, the images inside the book were shot by photographer Andrew Zuckerman, and the book itself is described as a photo archive. Interested folks will find images of products such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPod, Mac and more. Everything from 1998 to 2015, so there's a lot to see inside this beauty of a book.

Outside of this new book, Apple is thinking about getting its hands in a new market, the smart glass market. It's a market that has failed to take off, even with the early rise of the Google Glass, which then turned out to be a massive failure. Furthermore, Microsoft is doing its own thing with the HoloLens, so strong competition is already there.

The hottest smart glass on the market right now is likely the Snapchat Spectacles. It could be the beginning of something wonderful.
