Amazon Music Unlimited Now Live In The UK: Here's How Much You Need To Pay For The Music Streaming Service

If you're in the UK you have a new music streaming service that you can subscribe to - say hello to Amazon Music Unlimited.

The on-demand music streaming service from e-retailer Amazon - with more than 40 million songs - has finally launched in the UK, after making its U.S. debut in October. Yes it is now live in the UK!

Amazon Music Unlimited aims to throw the gauntlet to Apple Music, Google, Spotify and other platforms, and made its European debut on Monday, Nov. 14.

"We've been thrilled with customer reaction to the launch of Amazon Music Unlimited in the [United States] last month and we're excited to quickly bring the service to customers in the UK. Starting today, Amazon Music Unlimited offers our UK customers playlists and stations curated by our music experts in the UK, featuring leading British and international artists - we think customers are going to love it," noted Steve Boom, vice president of Amazon Music.

Along with those in the UK, people in Germany and Austria will also be able to take advantage of the music streaming service. We take an in-depth look at what you can expect from Amazon Music Unlimited.

How Is It Priced?

Amazon Music Unlimited will be offered to Prime members for £79 (around $98) annually or they can choose to pay £7.99 ($9.95) each month.

If you are purchasing the service only to use on the Amazon Echo speaker, you will be charged a paltry £3.99 ($4.97) each month. A subscription to Music Unlimited is otherwise £9.99 ($12.44) each month for non-Prime members.

You can also avail of a free 30-day trial to see if you like it.

What Makes Amazon Music Unlimited Different?

The tight integration with Amazon Echo speakers and how the service works in tandem with Alexa is what makes Music Unlimited stand out.

Easy Streaming And Play

Streaming music on your PC or smartphone is pretty seamless thanks to the Music Unlimited app. If you own the Echo Dot or Amazon Echo speaker, then you don't even need to type the artist's name in the search box as you can merely instruct Alexa to play the song!

You can ask Alexa to play a new song from a specific artist, or you can say the lyrics too if you do not recollect the title.

Moreover, Alexa and Echo will talk back. To illustrate, when you hear a song from a random selection and you like it, you can interject and query which song it is and Alexa will update you!
