As OnePlus fans look forward to an expected Nov. 14 launch date for the OnePlus 3T, some users are looking further ahead to the next flagship device of the company, the OnePlus 4.
The rumor mill has been busy with speculations on what the OnePlus 4 will look like. A new report reveals more details regarding the upcoming smartphone, including its processor, camera and battery.
OnePlus 4 Name, Design And Battery
According to a post on popular Chinese forum Weibo, the name of the OnePlus 4 might not be set in stone. An image shows the name "OnePlus 4 (5?)", which means that there is a chance that the device could be named the OnePlus 5, the reason for which is largely unknown.
It is said that the OnePlus 4 will have a glass-made body though, with a 5.3-inch 2K AMOLED display, as reported in rumors from the start of the month. It is also indicated that the smartphone will have a 4,000 mAh battery.
OnePlus 4 Processor, RAM And Storage
According to the Weibo post, the OnePlus 4 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset, a claim that follows up on a similar rumor reported late last month. However, as with the name of the smartphone, the processor is indicated in a confusing manner as Snapdragon 830 (835), which could mean that that OnePlus 4 will have two variants with one powered by the Snapdragon 830 and the other by Snapdragon 835, or that OnePlus has not yet decided whether the OnePlus 4 will feature the Snapdragon 830 or the Snapdragon 835.
The smartphone is listed as having "6GB/8GB RAM" though, which could mean that there will be a 6 GB of RAM version and an 8 GB of RAM version. The OnePlus 4 is also said to be coming with 128 GB of internal storage.
OnePlus 4 Dual Camera
Perhaps the most interesting tidbit regarding the Weibo post is the claim that the OnePlus 4 will have a dual camera setup, using a combination of an augmented reality camera and a mixed reality camera. There is no information, however, on the company that will be manufacturing the camera sensors and how they will function together.
OnePlus 3T Release
All the speculations come amid the expected release of the OnePlus 3T on Nov. 14. The smartphone is said to be an upgraded version of the OnePlus 3, with a more powerful Snapdragon 821 processor, an improved 16MP rear-facing camera, an LCD screen and powered by the Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.
