Mojang is set to push out a big update for Minecraft across Windows 10, Pocket and Gear VR editions of the hyper-popular game before this year ends.
Mojang, the developers behind Minecraft, has announced that the update will finally bring The End dimension along with the Ender Dragon boss for the Windows 10 and mobile edition of the game.
Minecraft Ender Update
Mojang's calling it the Ender Update and apart from the changes already mentioned, it will also multiply the current block world height twice its current maximum, bringing it up to 256 blocks, the company confirmed.
Also included in the update is "Elytra" or more simply known as wings, which allows your character to roam freely around the worlds you created inside Minecraft. With the wings, Mojang wants users to get a new perspective on the way they navigate and view their creations inside the game.
Although you won't be able to fly upward with Elytra, it'll make for a seamless and smooth glide across spaces previously cumbersome to reach.
Mojang said that several more updates are included in the Ender Update for Minecraft, but it'll give users freedom to explore what these are on their own terms once the update becomes available.
Interestingly, the Ender Update will come integrated with the Apple TV Edition of Minecraft once it ships. For those who own an Apple TV, you can even start the game by immediately taking on the Ender Dragon, thereby starting at "The End," Mojang quips.
Here's How To Get The Ender Update
Luckily, Android users who have Minecraft: Pocket Edition installed can go ahead and sign up to receive the beta version of the Ender Update right now. Keep in mind that this is stilll a beta version, so you may encounter bugs or stability issues.
Should you encounter any snags, the developers are encouraging you to report these immediately as they will try to iron the issues out before the official release.
Last month, Mojang rolled out the Minecraft Boss Update for Windows 10, mobile and Gear VR editions that brought boss battles for the game, along with a couple of guardians to spar against and Ocean Monuments that can be explored.
The eventual push of the Ender Dragon serves as a corollary for the addition of these boss battles back in October, which marked the first time that boss battles were available for these editions of the game.
Expect due coverage as we near the release of the Ender 1.0 update. For now, if you have an Android device, you can sign up and try out the beta version to see the changes for yourself.
The Ender 1.0 update arrives for Windows 10, Gear VR and mobile editions of Minecraft before 2017.
