It's almost Halloween, and that means there are going to be some serious parties going down at dorms and bachelor condos across the country. With a little help from Mashable, you can take your Halloween party to the next level by making a pumpkin keg.
It sounds like it might be hard, but it's astonishingly simple. Just buy a pumpkin carving kit and a spigot and you are ready to go. Start by cutting open the top of the pumpkin, then clean out the insides like you would if you were carving it. It's okay if you don't clean it 100 percent -- whatever is left over will add pumpkin flavor to the beer of your choice. The next step is to add a spigot. Cut a small hole in the front of the pumpkin that is slightly smaller in diameter than that of the spigot. This will ensure the spigot is secured tightly. Add the spigot and you are almost done.
All that's left to do after that point is to add your favorite beer. Mashable recommends pumpkin flavored beer, or various Oktoberfest style brews. Brown ales and amber ales also work well when combined with the pumpkin flavor of the keg. We of course recommend trying out one (or all) of these great pumpkin flavored brews.
After pouring 6-12 bottles of beer into your pumpkin, you are all set to have a drink. It's as easy as that. Let's be honest -- this is a way better use of a pumpkin than carving a spooky face in it.
