Android Nougat November Security Patch Rolls Out With Pixel And Nexus Factory Images And OTA Files

Google is now pushing out the November Android security patch, the monthly maintenance update, which will be the first for its Pixel smartphones.

The November patch is now available for both Nexus and Pixel owners whose devices are running Android Nougat 7.0 or Android Nougat 7.1.

The security update started rolling out on Nov. 7, the first Monday of the month and brings with it OTA files and factory images for the devices listed below.

Verizon Pixel - NDE63X
Pixel XL - NDE63U and NDE63V
Verizon Pixel XL - NDE63X
Nexus 6P - NBD91K
Pixel C - NRD91N

Nexus 9 (Wi-Fi only) - NRD91N
Nexus 9 (LTE) - NRD91N
Nexus 6 - NBD91P, MOB31K and MMB31C
Nexus Player - NRD91N

Those confused about the build numbers will do well to remember that the U build is for Europe, the X for Verizon Wireless and the V is a standard for a Google Store phone.

What Else Does The November Patch Bring?

If you own the Pixel XL or Pixel smartphone then you will be pleased to learn that the update will bring support for Daydream View to your handset.

Verizon Wireless has confirmed in its changelog for the Pixel update that in addition to Daydream View, the November patch also improves message alerts when one is "connected to vehicle Bluetooth systems."

"Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update for your device. This software update has been tested to help optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches," notes the carrier.

The update also adds a new state option, New Mexico, when setting up Wi-Fi calling.

It is important to remember that if you unlocked your Verizon variant of the Pixel using the dePixel8 workaround, the current update will automatically disable the same.
