Ufologists and alien hunters have discovered potential evidence to support the idea of life on Mars. According to their examinations of the NASA images, there is a strangely shaped object that looks like a fossilized creature, very much similar to a bear.
The extraterrestrial enthusiasts are now motivated to further analyze the issue and dig deeper into the images caught by the camera. This is not the first time that NASA amazed the entire world at the possibility of life on other planets, because of their different forms from a shoe to a Bigfoot skull or an extraterrestrial warrior.
According to popular ufoogist Scott C. Waring, the remains are very similar to the ones of a grizzly bear, making the image "unusual and interesting."
"Even without processing the image, you can clearly see that it looks artificial. Resembles a bear or sloth-like creature to me, possibly with a shell, but to be honest, it could be anything," he stated in a Daily Star interview.
According to his statement, the dark object seems to have a coat of fur and, in the area that's supposed to be its face, there is less hair than on the body, which is consistent with the idea of an animal fossil. However, there are still some skeptics who do not concur with the hypothesis, stating that the image depicts a simple weird-shaped rock.
Skeptics Dismissed The Hypothesis
According to these skeptics, the image similar to an animal was formed because of the angle of lighting and the illumination caused by the probe while taking the image, which would explain the optical illusion of a bear-like structure.
Scientifically speaking, the image could be nothing more than a pareidolia. The phenomenon describes a cognitive bias wherein the mind perceives a stimulus, (visual, acoustic, etc.) as a familiar pattern, because our cognitive wiring makes us susceptible to identifying familiar elements even where it isn't the case.
The idea of life on Mars started with the Viking program, where essential information in order to approve or dismiss this theory was collected. However, there was not sufficient evidence to support the theory. In 1996, ufologist David McKay and his colleagues presented further proof, which was - at its turn - dismissed.
"It is more likely the unusual shape is a rock or some kind of statue. Even without processing the image you can clearly see that it looks artificial," stated YouTuber Paranormal Crucible about the bear theory.
While we're discovering more and more images from Mars every day, it is complicated to state the existence of extraterrestrial life with certainty.
