Space station travels from New Orleans to New York in six seconds

There are many different ways to travel to New York, but one astronaut was able to get there the fastest, leaving from New Orleans and arriving in the city that never sleeps in six short seconds.

Astronaut Reid Wiseman posted a video clip on Twitter on Friday from the International Space Station that shows the super speed space odyssey.

The short video shows illuminated land that is surrounded by the blackness of the Earth's ocean and space. As the station travels up the east cost, the video shows hints of the aurora borealis that can be seen across Canada.

Wiseman has been the engineer for the International Space Station's Expedition 41 since its May 29 launch. He completed his astronaut training May of 2011.

Wiseman recorded the six-second voyage from a window of the space station, posting it on his Twitter account under his handle @Astro_Reid. The Twitter account features other photos and videos during Wiseman's time on the space station. Wiseman also posts Vines of his journey on the station, which commonly include the hashtag #SpaceVine.
