Fans of DC who were hoping that Warner Bros. would consider following Marvel (by unifying both the TV and movie universes) are completely out of luck. The studio cast Ezra Miller as the Flash for film.
Not many folks here might know of Ezra Miller because he's relatively an unknown actor. However, the man is good at his work. He did a splendid job in the 2011 thriller We Need to Talk about Kevin. So far, that movie has been his best work, and we have no doubt the actor will perform even better in future films.
Now, with Ezra Miller on board to play the Flash on the big screen, many are wondering what will happen to Grant Gustin, the Flash on the small screen, because if you ask us he's a mighty good Flash so far.
Well, everything should go on as intended because this is proof enough that Warner Bros. and DC have no intentions of combining the movie and TV universes as one. From our point of view, this should not have been an issue for fans because it has been long known that there are multiple universes in the comics, so the complaints are definitely without merit.
It is clear that some fans just want DC to follow Marvel's footsteps, but they should bear in mind that combining both universes is not working so well for the studio just yet. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started off well with the first couple of episodes in season 1, but plummeted mainly due to the fact that the show had to wait until Captain America: The Winter Soldier before getting to the interesting storyline.
By the time that happened, many viewers had lost interest and are no longer giving the show their time and space.
The Flash and Arrow are succeeding because both shows are not tied down by DC's cinematic universe. So, if keeping the universes separate is working out for DC, why change it?
Furthermore, by going this route, Warner Bros. and DC could open the doors for a Crisis on Infinite Earths story arc, where both universes combine to go up against a deadly foe.
