Those who are frequent gymgoers or enjoy a good sweat session know that music can make or break a workout. The more upbeat the music, the more the listener will be motivated to push harder.
And now Google is helping to fuel high-intensity workouts by providing the soundtrack to the user's next workout.
Google teamed up with the fitness tracking app Runtastic to give Android users workout-inspired playlists that are powered by Play Music.
Google Play Music's fitness playlist include a variety of different songs including those that are more than 130 beats per minute, which is the perfect tempo to synchronize with exercise to get the listener's heart rate up, burn calories and work up a sweat.
Not only will the playlist keep users pumped since its consists of their favorite songs, but it will also be easier to forget about the burn and get lost in the music.
The best part of it is that the Google Play Music ad-free playlists are available for Android users with the Runtastic app for free.
While of course this seems to be like a great way to get more users on board Google's music streaming service, Android users don't need to have an account in order to jam along with this partnership. Starting on Friday, Oct. 7, users who launch the Runtastic app can start streaming Google Play Music's fitness playlists that are relevant to their activity.
These include "Today's Running Hits" with music from Calvin Harris and Alesso, "Sweaty EDM Workout" with music from Avicii and Armin van Buuren, and "High-Energy Hard Rock" with music from Kings of Leon and The Black Keys.
The songs play directly in the Runtastic app so that users can play, pause or skip while keeping track of their workout from one centralized location. This feature could help recruit new users who have Spotify or Apple Music and don't want to keep exiting and launching the two apps and interrupting their workouts.
And while the playlists are free for Android users, Google is making sure iOS users don't miss out on what its streaming service has to offer. It announced that it is giving Runtastic users on both Android and iOS devices a free trial to Play Music so that they can stream creating their own playlists to work out to.
The ability to stream Google Play Music playlists from Runtastic is now available in more than 60 countries worldwide.
