Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash and more of the most popular superheroes are sharing the screen with the Joker, Harley Quinn, Doomsday and more this fall.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced the upcoming release a new mobile game starring superheroes and super villains at New York Comic Con on Thursday, Oct. 6.
Titled DC Legends, this new game made exclusively for mobile has the player recruiting a team of unlikely characters together from across the DC universe throughout different storylined missions in an attempt to save the world.
In this free-to-play RPG game, a shadow of the Blacked Night prophecy is upon the world and only a team of the best and baddest DC characters can battle Nekron and restore peace.
Gamers can role-play as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Dr. Fate, Harley Quinn and more as they collect and form teams of superheroes and super villains that are part of their own Justice League, Lantern Corp or Suicide Squad to complete each mission.
Each character collected has their own signature abilities, powers and gear, with upgrades available to make them stronger in battle.
DC Legends has a cinematic feel with its vibrant environments and is as action-packed as the popular blockbuster movies. Players will have battle against Nekron and his army of Manhunters in locations that include Metropolis, Gotham City, Themyscira and Thanagar while tapping into the powers of the characters like Superman's heat vision or Bizarro's flame breath.
Along the way the user can collect gear like Lex Luthor's kryptonite ring that makes the character more powerful. The more powerful the character becomes, the more advanced their powers become and they will get a whole new look. Players will have to rank their hero or villain to five stars to have them become a Legend.
Users can also compete against other players from around the world in a quest to rise to the top of the ranks and earn more rewards in the story-driven campaign. In this mode, players compete in throw-down battles with their entire team.
New characters can be unlocked via daily and weekly special events that are tied to events inspired by the DC universe.
However, in celebration of the upcoming release (and her 75th anniversary), those who preregister now will automatically unlock Wonder Woman when the title launches.
DC Legends will be available in the App Store for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as in the Google Play Store for Android devices this November.
