iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus Yellow Tint Issue: Here's How To Fix It

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have started making their way to consumers, but Apple's latest smartphones are encountering some hiccups as users are being plagued by an issue with the display.

Close on the heels of the news that, like the Galaxy Note 7, an iPhone 7 also exploded, users of the device are complaining of a yellow tint on its screen.

The issue was first reported by publication Letem světem Applem, which revealed that several of its readers had taken to its forum to express their annoyance.

This is not the first time Apple users are facing an issue with the display of the iPhone. In 2010, when the iPhone 4 debuted, several consumers encountered a similar issue — a yellow tint on the handset's screen. At the time, Apple was shipping the smartphone in such haste that it did not wait for the bonding process for the screen to finish. Because of this lapse, the iPhone 4 units that made their way to consumers indeed had a yellow tint. However, in time the yellow spots faded away naturally — once the bonding process finished on its own, the iPhone 4's screen was perfect.

A possibility exists that the latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units are suffering from the same issue due to the adhesive not drying properly, leading to a yellow tint, as was the case with the iPhone 4. In such a scenario, once the glue dry's the yellow tinge will disappear automatically.

However, if the yellow tint on the smartphone's display does not vanish, we have a quick fix that you may want to try out.

How To Fix The Yellow Tint Issue

Step 1: Navigate to Settings on your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.

Step 2: Tap General, Accessibility, then the Display Accommodations option.

Step 3: Navigate to Color Filters and toggle it to On.

Step 4: In the Filter List, select the Color Tint option. Slide the hue bar to reduce the yellow on the screen to the amount that you want.

Step 5: Slide the Intensity and Hue to low level till the display looks normal.

Remember that the warmer yellow, tinted display to colder mode may lead to the screen tint becoming blue. This means that the adjustment you made was more than needed, so ensure that the screen adjustment is apt.

If this does not solve the problem — or the drying of the glue — then take a trip down to your local Apple Store to get the issue solved.
