Dark Souls 3 fans are in for a treat, as Bandai Namco officially rolls out a new gameplay trailer for the action RPG's first DLC Ashes of Ariandel.
For the uninitiated, the publisher released a trailer back in August, and perhaps to keep the hype going until the DLC goes official in October, it launched this new clip for a closer look at what's in store. To be clear on that, it's filled with spoilers — just a fair warning.
What The Ashes Of Ariandel Gameplay Trailer Holds
Moving on, Ashes of Ariandel is one of two expansions that's coming to Dark Souls 3, and as the gameplay trailer shows, players will be set in snowy environments and rough weather conditions that reduces their vision with fog and whatnot.
More than that, it of course showcases the game's signature combat style. As for the foes that players can expect to go toe-to-toe with in the foreseeable future, there's an axe-wielding giant that's obviously out for blood, crawling creatures that can be easily dealt with by torching them up, a humungous wolf that shows no remorse in dishing out fatal blows, an agile enemy who has a scythe in hand with killer moves and a gigantic opponent that wields a large cauldron that appears to be full of lava.
Availability And The Second Expansion
Ashes of Ariandel is expected to go live on Oct. 25 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, coming in with a $14.99 price tag. For those who want to get ahead, it's available for preorder on Steam.
FromSoftware is believed to release the second unnamed DLC sometime in 2017, and for the record, fans who want to secure the two bits of post-launch content can opt to avail the Dark Souls 3 Season Pass for $24.99 via Steam, the Microsoft Store and the PlayStation Store. Needless to say, gamers who already got ahold of it can download the duo from the get-go once they're released.
A Look At Ashes Of Ariandel
Before hitting the video, it should be pointed out again that there might be spoilers, and hard-core fans who doesn't want to ruin the surprise of what the DLC contains should probably skip this one. At any rate, it's going to launch next month anyway — one long, long month, that is.
