New 'Power Rangers' Posters Give First Look At Movie's Redesigned Zords

The curtain is slowly being lifted on the upcoming Power Rangers reboot movie.

First came images of the redesigned Rita Repulsa. Then came images of the Power Rangers themselves in their suits. Now comes the moment Power Rangers fans have long been waiting for ... the reveal of the film's Zords.

Zords, of course, are the massive mechs piloted by each Power Ranger that, when combined, form a massive robot capable of defeating even the most powerful of monsters. New posters for the film, one for each ranger, offer a glimpse at what fans can expect from the dinosaur-themed machines.

Stylistically, they look to match up nicely with the armor the rangers wear, but it's hard to judge the design of the Zords overall without seeing a complete image. While the posters could look better (some of the characters look poorly-placed, and the visuals of the Zords themselves give off a cheap CGI look), it's worth remembering that these are just teaser posters and not likely a great representation of what they will look like on screen. As a reminder, here's what Zords looked like on the big screen in 1995's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie.

Each poster reveals only a small bit of each Zord. The Red Ranger looks to be sitting on the tail of the T-Rex Zord, while the Blue ranger appears to be lounging on the head of the Triceratops Zord. The Yellow Ranger is clearly standing on the leg of the Sabretooth Tiger Zord as well.

Unfortunately, there is no poster teasing the fully-formed Zord comprised of each dinosaur mech, but that will hopefully come soon. The full reveal for the Zords is expected to come at the Power Rangers panel at New York Comic Con on Oct. 8. You can check out the posters below.

Saban's Power Rangers is set to release on March 24, 2017. If the film is a success, expect plenty more films in the future, as rumor has it that Lionsgate is looking at making up to seven Power Rangers films.
