The day of reckoning is here. Call of Duty: Black Ops III's DLC 4 is now available.
Treyarch just released the Call of Duty: Black Ops III's Salvation DLC, the fourth and final installment for the military science fiction first-person shooter game. The release is currently limited to the PlayStation 4.
In typical Call of Duty: Black Ops III fashion, Salvation contains four multiplayer maps namely, Micro, Citadel, Outlaw and Rupture. Tagging along is a new Zombies map called Revelation, which is also the final chapter in the Zombies Origins saga - Takeo, Dempsey, Nikolai and Richtofen come face-to-face with Doctor Monty.
"Confronted by an ancient evil, our heroes must fight the zombie horde once more in the final battle to save their immortal souls," writes Treyarch.
The video game developer designed Micro as a well-stocked family picnic table where players are miniaturized to the size of ants that run amok among the gigantic food items and utensils.
Citadel, on the other hand, is a mid-sized map that is set in some ruined, abandoned castle that has a moat, drawbridge and is filled with tight corners, which promotes close-quarter combat. Treyarch says that it was once the home of a powerful army.
Another mid-sized map is Outlaw, which is based on Standoff, one Call of Duty: Black Ops II's popular map. Contrary to Citadel, Outlaw is designed for long and medium-ranged engagements.
Rupture is another map adaptation from a Call of Duty series title. Specifically, it is a remake of Outskirts, a Call of Duty: World at War map.
Going over the four DLC map pack releases for Call of Duty: Black Ops III — Awakening, Eclipse, Descent and Salvation — we come to a total of five map remakes. Three of which are based on Call of Duty: Black Ops II maps while the other two are from Call of Duty: World at War.
Along with the map packs release on Tuesday, Sept. 6, several game bugs for both multiplayer and Zombies mode were also addressed, from the occasional loss of menu functionality after joining a game, to a bug that caused the Margwa to appear incorrectly at longer distances.
PS4 players have a month to enjoy the Salvation DLC before it becomes available for PC and Xbox One due to an agreement between Sony and Activision, the game's publisher and Treyarch's parent company. This DLC will not be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.
