Labor Day 2016: The Best Sales From The Biggest Retailers

Those who are frequent online shoppers have probably already seen quite a few emails from the retailers they have purchased items from in the past to inform them about the upcoming and newly-launched Labor Day deals.

However, before you start throwing things into your online carts, you might want to first hold off until you know which are the best sales that will be going on this holiday weekend to get the most bang — and items — for your buck.

While many might do most of their high-ticket item shopping during Black Friday, Cyber Monday or even Prime Day, many retailers are known for rolling out big Labor Day sales. We aren't just talking about back-to-school supplies (although there will be plenty of deals related to that as well).

Consumers will be able to pick up household appliances, mattresses and even vacations for a fraction of their regular costs.

Here are some of the best Labor Day sales from some of the biggest retailers.

Amazon

The online retail company is offering sales on items in various categories, like 25 percent off K2 Camp Gear, a Dell 760 SFF Desktop computer for $369.99 and Google Cardboard for just $11.99.

Best Buy

Best Buy is delivering consumers up to 35 percent off on major appliances from now until Sept. 4. This includes saving money on refrigerators, washers and dryers, dishwashers and microwaves. Spend on three or more major appliances with a total of $4,000, and Best Buy will throw in a free $400 gift card.

Those looking for smaller purchases can buy KitchenAid Stand Mixers for 50 percent off, a perfect wedding gift, or get $20 off a Keurig 15 Brewer with free K-Cups.

Target

Target is offering its customers up to 30 percent off, plus an additional 10 off home items online as part of its major Labor Day sale; just use the promo code "Homedeal." This covers everything from bedding to home decor to dining and bath items — ideal for redecorating for fall.

The retailer is also giving 25 percent off clothing, shoes and accessories so stock up on fall staples like leggings and boots.

Walmart

Walmart has lots of deals this weekend spanning across many different categories, like mattresses, baby, jewelry and more.

Make sure to get your hands on a 58-inch Samsung TV for just $498 before football season is in full swing, or pick up the Maximus 11.6-inch touchscreen laptop with Windows 10 for just $169 compared with its $269 retail price.

There are also select video games that start at just $2, although they are for older generation consoles like the PS3. Still, gamers can save $20 to $40 on games like Black Ops III, Grand Theft Auto V and NBA 2K16 for Xbox One, with the best deal being Assassin's Creed: Unity for PS4 being available for under $5 for a pre-owned copy.

Macy's

Macy's is holding a Friday and Saturday "super sale," with free shipping for online orders over $50, plus an extra 20, 15 or 10 percent off in select departments. This includes sales on designer handbags, clothing, kitchen gadgets, jewelry and mattresses.

Since Labor Day is the weekend to pick up a new mattress because of the sales, check out the Sealy Posturepedic Orchard Valley Firm Tight Top Queen Mattress Set, which is only $399 from its original price of $859.

Sears

Sears is giving 40 percent off or more on Kenmore "hot buys" like washers and dryers, electric range ovens and refrigerators, as well as 20 percent off on other brand appliances.

Expedia

From now until Sept. 4, consumers can save $30 on $300 bookings when you stay two or more nights with promo code "Exphotel30."

Hotels.com

The vacation site is allows customers to save up to 50 percent off plus and 10 percent off trips taken before Nov., 1 from now until Sept. 6 when using the code "Lastchance."
