LG is all set to launch the successor of the LG V10 called the V20 in about a week and the rumor mill is full of speculation on the upcoming mobile phone. Here is everything we know so far about the LG V20.
Hardware Specs
The LG mobile phone may sport a 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a display resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. Just like its predecessor, the LG V20 is highly likely to include a secondary display on top of the regular screen.
The LG V20 is estimated to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It could be available with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. The LG V10 is available with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage capacity. Rumors suggest that the LG V20 may come with 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of on-board storage with the option to expand the storage capacity with a microSD card.
The LG offering is expected to be equipped with a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. A previous Tech Times report highlighted that the LG V20 will have a dual-camera setup, which will improve the photo quality.
The LG V20 is said to follow the footsteps of LG G5 as the device will be the second modular phone from the Korean company.
Android 7.0 Nougat Out Of The Box
LG has confirmed that the LG V20 will be the first LG smartphone to come running on Android 7.0 Nougat.
A teaser image suggests that the LG V20 will pack in superior audio capabilities, which will attract audiophiles.
An official teaser video of the upcoming smartphone also suggests that it will offer better multi-tasking features, including picture-in-picture and split windows. The teaser notes that users will be able to reply to notifications without opening an app.
Switching between apps will also become easier on the LG V20 expected to run Google's latest mobile OS.
Launch And Release
LG has confirmed that the LG V20 will launch at an event on Sept. 6 in San Francisco. However, it does not mean that the mobile phone will hit the shelves immediately.
Google normally releases its new mobile OS along with a Nexus smartphone or a tablet. Rumors of the Nexus Marlin and Sailfish have been doing the rounds for several months now, so they could be the first handsets in the market to be released with Android 7.0 Nougat.
Google has not confirmed a launch date of its next-gen devices of this year. LG V20 fans may have to wait until the Nexus phones hit the shelves.
