YouTube TV App Gets Update That Improves Cord-Cutters' Experience

YouTube TV started to invade living rooms across the globe back in 2009, and with the latest update, it's out to make the experience of every cord-cutter out there even better.

Right off the bat, viewers can now expect an improved layout and a carousel of tabs for a variety of content near the top and below the search bar, where it consists of Recommended, Trending, Entertainment and 4K, to name a few.

What's more, finding videos related to categories such as news, gaming, sports, travel and many others is now a cinch to do, as the list has been upgraded too. However, while some have been included in the mix, some have been removed.

At any rate, users can find specific clips more easily because of the sub-categories. For instance, they can find content related to Overwatch, Pokémon GO and many others under gaming.

To make things even more interesting, YouTube TV will also offer suggested topics and channels, and when the viewer watches a video included in one of the groups, the next one in it will automatically play.

The fun doesn't end there either, as there's a "live" section too. There, users can browse for streams that are currently happening.

Of course, the small but important update is coming to set-top boxes such as Roku, smart TVs, consoles and Chromecast in living rooms here and there.

Long story short, the improved YouTube TV app aims to let viewers watch more videos than make searches and browse through the massive library. Since it's not exactly easy to browse or type in keywords on it, this update is more or less necessary for a great experience, not to mention it could be considered as one step closer to delivering the average cord-cutter's dream.

The update has already begun rolling out, but it's only in the United States for now, according to Engadget. In other words, other regions will have to wait a bit before users in those locations can get their hands on it, but rest assured that it's expected to come in the foreseeable future.

It's also worth mentioning that YouTube for the Apple TV didn't get the new layout, and that's because the Cupertino brand uses a different interface for the app.

With all said and done, are you excited to take it out for a spin and binge watch to your heart's content? If so, feel free to hit us up in the comments section below and let us know.
