HTC is reportedly working on not one but two Desire smartphones, and the duo is said to roll out this September.
Right off the bat, the first one in the mix is the Desire 10 Pro, and the other one is the Desire 10 Lifestyle, according to "someone briefed on the company's plans." Unfortunately, only the latter's specs have been revealed.
Before going over the nitty-gritty details, it should be mentioned that the news comes from the ever reliable leakster Evan Blass of VentureBeat, and if that name doesn't ring a bell, he's also known as @evleaks over at Twitter.
According to the info, the Desire 10 Lifestyle will sport a 5.5-inch display with a 720 x 1,280 resolution. Under the hood, it's going to be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon, but the speed of the chip was not revealed.
Regarding storage and RAM, there are going to be two options to choose from, depending on the market, with one sporting 3 GB worth of RAM and 32 GB of storage and the other packing in 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
As expected, it's going to come out of the box running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the HTC Sense layered on top.
For the mobile photography enthusiasts, it's said to be equipped with a 13 MP rear-facing camera with a backside-illuminated image or BSI sensor and a single LED flash along with 5 MP snapper on the front that also features BSI.
In the audio department, it will come loaded with Boomsound Hi-Fi Edition stereo speakers and a 24-bit system.
It's going to be available in solid and matte finishes with a gold trim here and there, going in contrast with the dotted design of the Desire devices released earlier. The colors they're going to tout and their prices haven't been disclosed, however.
Also, it's worth pointing out that the Desire 10 line made the headlines back in July, and word about it spread thanks to Blass too.
Long story short, HTC appears to be out to dominate the midrange smartphone market with the Desire Lifestyle, and it's probably safe to assume that the Desire Pro won't be treading on flagship territory, as the HTC 10 also has that area covered.
As usual, it's recommended to take this news with the proverbial grain of salt, but since the source is Blass, there's a good chance that this will turn out to be what's really in store.
