Fans who missed out on the recently released 2 TB Xbox One S are out of luck, as Microsoft won't be replenishing stocks of the coveted console anymore.
To set the record straight, those who want to get their hands on the sleek model with that particular size better hope for the best, act quickly and go around the retailers in their area to check whether or not there are still some left because when it's all gone, it's gone for good.
"The 2 TB Xbox One S was released as a special launch edition in limited quantities only ... Please check with your local retailer to determine whether the 2 TB Xbox One S is still available in your market," a Microsoft spokesperson tells GameSpot, confirming the harrowing news.
All is not lost, though, as the blood-red Gears of War 4 Xbox One S is still on the way with 2 TB worth of storage on Oct. 7. However, it's a bit pricier at $449.99 than the $399.99 cost of the Launch Edition, not to mention that it's also a limited edition.
"We're excited by the reaction from fans for the Xbox One S. While stock of the 2TB has sold out, gamers can pre-order the Xbox One S 2TB Gears of War Limited Edition console," Microsoft tells Eurogamer.
On top of that, Amazon still lists down the Xbox One S Launch Edition as In Stock, so while supplies last, fans can still nab it there.
It's also worth pointing out that there's a 1 TB Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 bundle for $349.99 and a 500 GB Xbox One S bundle that comes with Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection for $299.99 that'll be up for grabs at the online retailer on Aug. 23.
To boil things down, this isn't a big problem, really. The thing is, the design of the Xbox One S allows users to add in external hard drives easily, so in other words, missing out on the 2 TB Launch Edition isn't the end of the world.
Making the headlines earlier this month, the Xbox One S showcased support for 4K and HDR, and it can boost the performance of certain games to boot. Feel free to check out a roundup of what gamers have to say about it too.
