‘Resident Evil 7’ Teases Healing Items, Brings Back Green Herbs

Capcom gave those who signed up for the Resident Evil newsletter an early look at Resident Evil 7's healing items, revealing that Green Herbs will be making a comeback.

Alongside the image of the healing items, however, is also a coin. It's not clear what it means, but it does suggest that an in-game vendor may be present where players can buy and sell items. Maybe Resident Evil 4's Merchant will be making a comeback as well?

Capcom debuted Resident Evil 7 during the E3 2016 conference, with a short demo of the game being made available soon after on the PlayStation 4. The demo, called Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour, then went on to break records with more than 2 million downloads in its first week.

These downloads can only be made by PlayStation Plus members so it's impressive to note that some players may have specifically signed up just to gain access to Beginning Hour.

Players have been working on unlocking all the secrets of the demo, much like how many tried to do the same for Silent Hills P.T. Unfortunately, P.T. will not see the light of day.

In July, Capcom also announced that Resident Evil 4 will be making its way to the PS4 and Xbox One on Aug. 30. The move marks the end of the effort to bring modern Resident Evil games for next-generation consoles, which began with RE6 in March.

Often considered the best in the series, Resident Evil 4 is noteworthy because of all the trouble it went through before finally being released. It has been canceled then restarted from scratch so many times that the original Resident Evil 4 became an another game entirely: Devil May Cry.

Some of the changes made to Resident Evil 4 were the use of a mob of infected humans instead of zombie hordes, more fluid movement and over-the-shoulder camera angles.

Like Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7 will also be available on the PS4 and Xbox One. However, the upcoming game in the series may also be enjoyed on PlayStation VR and PC.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a single-player, survival horror game. It is set to come out on Jan. 24, 2017 and will have a manufacturer's suggested price of $59.99. Those who preorder for the PS4 will get a special custom theme and additional special items. Both standard and deluxe versions of Resident Evil 7 are available for preorder for a limited time.
