Details on the story of Assassin's Creed: Unity have been scarce so far. We know it takes place during the French Revolution, with both sides of the conflict committing atrocities left and right, and the assassin, Arno, caught in the middle of it. We also know Arno's love interest, Elise, is a Templar, but that the personal goals of each align in some way.
While this latest trailer only provides more hints and glimpses, it does shine some light on Arno's past and his mission in revolutionary Paris. Check it out below.
Right away we see Arno meet a young Napoleon, keeping intact a long-standing Assassin's Creed tradition of having players cross paths with famous historical figures. It also seems like Arno didn't grow up in the Assassin order. After the death of his father, Arno learns his old man actually belonged to the Assassin brotherhood. Sure enough, Arno joins up to seek revenge for his father's death as he navigates the chaos and violence of the French Revolution.
With the power of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 behind him, Arno sure does look good doing it, too. Ubisoft recently revealed the game will run at 900p and 30 frames-per-second on both next-gen consoles. The studio also recently detailed downloadable content for Assassin's Creed: Unity in the form of a downloadable expansion taking place after the events of the core game, as well as an entirely new side-scrolling game called Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China.
Assassin's Creed: Unity hits store shelves on Nov. 11 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The last-gen only Assassin's Creed: Rogue, where players take on the role of a Templar for the first time, will be released on the same date.
