Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Appears In Use On Video Ahead Of Launch, As Carrier Confirms 64 GB Base Model

Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 event is quickly approaching, and new details regarding the smartphone have surfaced. The phablet was spotted in use on video, and a carrier listing reveals the device will start off with 64 GB of storage.

The smartphone wars are about to heat up, as Apple and Samsung will both launch new flagship "7" moniker smartphones in the near future. Apple is set to launch its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus/Pro in September, and it will reportedly be the first time the company has increased its base models' internal storage from 16 GB to 32 GB.

While Apple is sure to please iPhone fans with the bump in space, Samsung is reportedly planning to overshadow Apple by launching the Galaxy Note 7 with a base storage configuration of 64 GB, in addition to a microSD expansion slot, something Apple has never offered.

A leaked Korean carrier's internal listing identifies the Galaxy Note 7 by its model number, SM-N930 and shows all of the models will offer 64 GB of internal storage. This will certainly come in handy with the Note 7's rumored 12 megapixel rear camera, which will support recording 4K video, known to take up huge amounts of space — ask any 16 GB iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus owner.

In addition to having its 64 GB base model Galaxy Note 7 leaked, the smartphone was just spotted on camera in a video testing a new third-party screen protector on the phablet.

The Note 7 screen protector is from a third-party accessory maker, which just so happened to also leak the Galaxy Note 7's design and confirm its advanced iris scanner in late June, in one of its protective cases, and previously gave the LG G5 the same treatment before LG officially announced the smartphone.

As you can see in the video provided by accessory maker Olixar to MobileFunTV, the Galaxy Note 7 has a very similar look to the Galaxy S7 Edge, thanks to its bright and crisp dual curved-edge Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The handset appears to run very snappily in the video as the user opens up a few apps. The screen protector tested in the video is Olixar's Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Curved Glass Screen Protector.

"Keep your Samsung Galaxy Note 7's screen in pristine condition with this Olixar Tempered Glass screen protector, designed to cover and protect even the curved edges of the phone's unique display. Black edges match the black phone perfectly," reads the product description.

The "shatterproof and shockproof" tempered glass Galaxy Note 7 screen protector is now available for preorder and retails for $38.99.
