A new video of what is reportedly a comparison of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s has been posted online. The video provides a sneak peek of the next-gen iPhone and confirms some of its rumored features.
Samsung and Apple are once again preparing to release new flagship smartphones in the coming weeks that will directly compete with one another.
Samsung has officially announced its Galaxy Note 7 launch event, which will take place on Aug. 2, and some sources claim the device will be released and go on sale on the same day. This is certainly plausible, considering that the U.S. variants on all major carriers have passed through the FCC.
Apple is expected to keep its usual September launch and release of new flagship iPhones. This year, the company will unveil the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus/Pro.
While reports claim the new models will feature an overall similar design to that of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed during an interview in May that the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus/Pro will tempt users to upgrade.
"We are going to give you things you can't live without that you just don't know you need today. That has always been the objective of Apple. To do things that really enrich people's lives. That you look back on and you wonder how did I live without this," Cook said.
While the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus/Pro will use a virtually identical design to that of their predecessors, there will be some noticeable differences. The rear antenna bands have been redesigned, both smartphones feature larger protruding rear cameras and the standard 3.5 mm headphone port has been axed.
Now, a new video, which was uploaded to Weibo, compares what is reportedly an iPhone 7 with the current iPhone 6s. The video shows off both a Space Gray iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s and compares them side by side. The smartphones appear to be virtually the same size and thickness, even though Apple removed the 3.5 mm headphone port on the bottom of the iPhone 7, which now has dual speakers surrounding its Lightning port.
The iPhone 7's rear camera is clearly much larger than that of the iPhone 6s shooter and appears to protrude from its aluminum case. Leaked images of the iPhone 7 Plus/Pro's aluminum case also back up Apple's tweaked rear camera design.
