Exclusive clip: How 'Sharknado 2' took over the set of 'Live with Kelly & Michael'

Oh, Syfy. You thought you were so cute with your hit Sharknado movie (the film was trending on Twitter the night it premiered) that you had to go ahead and make a second film in the series. Not only that, but you even opened the subtitle up to a public vote before Sharknado 2: The Second One ended up winning the name game. Well, you pulled us in once again.

Maybe we're masochists or maybe we just like to see once-mega-stars like Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Kelly Osbourne, and Kari Wuhrer battle flying sharks in the New York City skyline. Either way, it worked. The film debuted to record ratings for Syfy, which means that Sharknado 3 can't be too far off. And why not? Sharknado 2 is certainly more watchable than the first film, and with an increased budget and a few more retro-stars willing to throw caution to the wind (pun totally intended), we can't imagine anyone that wouldn't want to see another round of swirling, hungry sharks.

T-Lounge is excited to premiere this exclusive bonus features clip from the Sharknado 2: The Second One Blu-ray (which arrives in stores on October 7). The clip features director Anthony C. Ferrante discussing how the Syfy production was able to spend some time in the Live with Kelly & Michael studio to shoot a few scenes after one of their daily shows ended. We get to see a few behind-the-scenes clips of the hosts and their audience (who Ferrante says wanted to stick around for the Sharknado 2 scenes). It's a fun clip that provides a nice peek behind the curtain of one of cinema's craziest new franchises.

Sharknado 2: The Second One arrives on Blu-ray, DVD & Digital HD on October 7.
