McDonald’s Adds Sriracha To Its Classic Big Mac Sauce: Here’s Where You Can Spice Up Your Signature Burgers

McDonald's is spicing up its Signature Crafted sandwiches.

The fast food chain might be known for its delicious secret sauce used on Big Macs, but now customers will know one of the ingredients that are now being added to the menu: Sriracha.

McDonald's is releasing its new flavor called "Signature Sriracha" that will be added to its Signature Crafted sandwich menu and will be available for customers to order starting on July 7.

Sriracha is the popular spicy chili sauce used in many Asian dishes, and has become the ketchup of hipsters as of late.

McDonald's will introduce the new Signature Sriracha sandwich that comes with a choice of a beef patty or fried or grilled chicken, along with white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, tomato, baby spinach and baby kale. The sandwich is then topped with the exclusive Sriracha Big Mac sauce, giving that extra touch of bold and spice with each bite.

"The combination of Sriracha with our iconic Big Mac Sauce is the perfect blend of ingredients that speaks to our flavor fans who love Sriracha," Chef Michael Haracz, manager of Culinary Innovation at McDonald's USA said in a press release. "Summer is the perfect time to enjoy great food that will please your taste buds."

Now that your taste buds are watering and stomach is growling, customers shouldn't get too excited for this item. That's because it will only available in two states: Washington and California.

The Signature Sriracha sandwich will be available for a limited-time in participating McDonald's location in Seattle on July 7, and is already available at participating locations in San Diego and Los Angeles.

Since this item is part of the Signature Crafted menu, customers can also add other ingredients that complement the savory and spicy flavors of the Signature Sriracha like Pico Guacamole or Sweet BBQ Bacon in Seattle or Pico Guacamole or Maple Bacon Dijon.

Sriracha has also been added to the menu on other fast food chains like Taco Bell and Jack In The Box.

Micky Dee's in Singapore also announced new menu items that incorporate some interesting flavors while shaking up its fries. The new Twist & Shake fries are curly instead of straight and come with a flavor packet that consists of salt, pepper and crab-flavored seasoning.

The Singapore menu is also spicing things up with Spicy McNuggets, as well as the new dessert item the Gula Melaka McFurry and the return of Banana Pie that are all added to the menu as of June 30.
