The first iOS 8 update was released in time when Apple launched the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the company's new flagship devices. While it brought new features and improvements, the company received several complaints that range from Wi-Fi glitch, battery drain and slow performance. Immediately, Apple released a second update as a way to fix the issues brought on by the first update, such as Wi-Fi calling and HealthKit. However, users still complain that the latest iOS 8.0.2 update has bugs and other issues.
Device owners voiced out their complaints through forums, social media and in Apple's own support forum. They said that after they have updated their devices to iOS 8.0.2, they still experienced various glitches.
"After updating to iOS 8.0.2, I have problems with my cellular reception on iPhone 5s and no service appears every few minutes," said one user who posted in Apple's support communities forum.
Some users complained about losing connectivity with text messages and phone calls while others complained about poor Wi-Fi connectivity on their iPad Air and iPhone 6 Plus. They noted that Internet speeds have slowed down and even reached zero in some instances. While rebooting their devices has helped, the situation was only temporary as the issue persisted.
"I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.0.2 and everything was working fine, for a few hours, then I began to lose connectivity with phone calls and text messages. I thought iOS 8.0.2 was supposed to fix the connectivity issue," said another user.
Some iPhone 5s users also complained about getting a slow Wi-Fi connectivity after installing the iOS 8.0.2 update.
"After updating to iOS 8.0.2, [I] have problems with my cellular reception on iPhone 5s. No service appears every few minutes," added another user in the forum.
In an isolated case, one user complained about not being able to access his bank accounts using Safari.
"Since installing the latest iOS 8.0.2 update I am unable to access my bank accounts in Safari. Auto passwords populate the Account Number boxes but the drop down menus for pin number are all asterisks rather than numbers, so the banks don't recognize my login detail," said the user.
Other comments came from owners of iPad and iPad mini, who complained about Bluetooth, battery life and random crashes, among other glitches.
It should be noted that the iOS 8.0.2 update was released just two days ago and has been installed by millions of iPhone and iPad users. It remains to be seen whether the demand on the update was just too much for Apple to handle as users still experience glitches.
