The fourth installment of zombie-hacking slash game, Dead Rising, was officially launched during the recently concluded E3 2016 by the Microsoft panel.
The company was, however, unclear if the game was going to be launched as an exclusive title for Microsoft platforms or a multi-platform one, meaning players from PS4 consoles would have the same-day access to the game.
Luckily, we have Twitter to ask developers politely and patiently for clarifications.
A Twitter user took to the social media site to ask developers, Capcom Vancouver, if the game was going to be "exclusive to Xbox or will it come to PS4?" He also added a very patient note to have the developers "out with it already."
It only took a matter of minutes for developers to reply that fans will be able to play Dead Rising 4 first on Xbox One and Windows 10, which in no certain terms answers the query regarding the game's release on other consoles. The user does, however, assume that Capcom's rather vague answer means there will be plans to have the game ported to the PS4.
A series of replies appear in the thread as well, all assertive in a PS4 release to which developers do not comment on, leading most to believe, with no certainty, that a PS4 release date is planned in the future.
In another Twitter thread, game journalist Ryan Brown said Dead Rising 4 will be an exclusive for Microsoft for a year, though, again, there is no clear indication of which platform the game will be expanded to.
The tweet does reveal that Dead Rising 4 only has a limited one-year contract and other players will, hopefully, get their own copies of the game on their own non-Microsoft platform, as this could be PS4, Steam, or both.
It is important to note too that the information Brown based his tweet on comes from a post on NeoGAF forums and not from actual developers. In this post, a forum member wrote that Capcom Vancouver will be developing the game and Microsoft will be publishing it.
"[One] year exclusive with MS. Slightly different deal than DR3," the member said.
If these speculations are true, fans of the series on different consoles should expect the title by 2017. Dead Rising 4 is set to release by the end of 2016, in line with the game's supposed Christmas theme as seen in the announcement trailer.
