Facebook's subsidiary, Oculus VR, has announced that its latest tech, the Oculus Touch, will be launching alongside 30 VR titles built for the system.
The massive list features completely realized games, which means that there will actually be more to its virtual reality (VR) experience rather than only showcasing the capabilities of its Touch hardware. Oculus says these 30 VR games have been fully integrated with the Oculus Touch to complement each other in terms of immersion and gameplay.
"Cast spells and unleash magic from your fingertips. Open doors, pick locks, and pull triggers like you're really there. Give your friend a 'thumbs up' in VR. This is the power of hand presence with Touch," Oculus' official announcement writes.
Most of the titles have already been announced to the public, but 20 of these games have not been revealed until now. The company also promises that it will be adding more games to the list as the Oculus Touch nears its release date.
There's been no update regarding the VR tech's official launch, but previous reports concluded that it might be released by the end of this year.
It is good to know, though, that Oculus is pushing a number of compatible games with the Oculus Touch. Previous VR gadget releases by other companies would have the tech readily available with, unfortunately, an insufficient amount of applications that fully realizes the capability of its tech.
Among the games included in the list are Oculus Studio titles such as Harmonix's Rock Band VR, Unspoken, Dead & Buried from Insomniac, The Climb by Crytek and Sanzaru's VR Sports Challenge.
Independent games include Croteam's Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope, Opus' Pro Fishing Challenge VR, Schell Games' I Expect You to Die, Funomena's Luna, Other Ocean's Giant Cop, Owlchemy Labs' Job Simulator and Northway Games' Fantastic Contraption.
Oculus Medium will also be released with the Oculus Touch to give users the unlimited experiences of sculpting in VR.
Four of the new titles gracing the Oculus Touch's fingertips are the following:
Oculus Studio and Sanzaru Games' Ripcoil is a player vs. player (PVP) game set in a "futuristic" arena where players take turns spinning a Ripcoil disc "in a way that's only possible with Touch."
Superhot is a first-person shooter (FPS) strategy game. In this "stylistic" title, "time only moves" when a player does, allowing them to easily "dodge bullets, disarm enemies, and return fire in a way that has yet to be experienced in gaming."
Wilson's Heart is by Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studio. Gamers will play as Robert Wilson, a patient whose heart has been replaced with "a mysterious device." The game uses the full functionalities of the Oculus Touch to allow "natural hand gestures" that let players "fully examine and interact" with the game's "one-of-a-kind visual and narrative style."
And lastly, Tripwire Interactive's Killing Floor: Incursion, a multiplayer cooperative game that places gamers in the Killing Floor universe, pitting them against hordes of "sci-fi monsters." The Touch version's take of Killing Floor requires players to "scavenge for survival" in its "diverse environments."
