Bandai Namco and FromSoftware's Dark Souls series might be well known for its difficulty, but it's also becoming just as well known for all the inventive ways players have found to beat all the challenges the series throws at them.
Dark Souls 3 is the latest in the series, and it has become increasingly clear that players have become even more creative in the way they handle the game over time. Last month, there was a player who set a world record by beating the game in one hour. Furthermore, there is a Twitch streamer currently attempting to beat the game without taking any damage. Not to mention, there is a guy who recorded himself beating one of the game's most difficult bosses in a single hit.
All of these feats are impressive in their own way, yet they may all pale in comparison to what one gamer did: beat the game using only his feet.
Yes, YouTube user Celesterian Games beat all of the Dark Souls 3 bosses using just his feet. Not only that, but he accomplished this feat by using a standard Sony Dual Shock 4 controller, not some specialized controller that is designed specifically for the feet.
It's hard to imagine how he managed to pull this off, considering that there are too many buttons on the PlayStation 4 controller to be able to respond appropriately to everything the game throws at him, but he has managed to do it and filmed himself sitting in a chair while playing with his feet to prove the accomplishment was real.
Of course, due to the nature of the accomplishment, there are quite a few skeptics out there. They note that it's entirely possible that Celesterian synced up video of the game being played normally with the video of himself sitting in the chair, followed by an edit at the end of the game when he goes to show the controller up close. However, other videos on his channel do show that he has completed Dark Souls and other difficult titles in unique ways, so maybe he should get the benefit of the doubt.
If he is given the benefit of the doubt, and we assume that he did manage to beat the game with just his feet, it would mean that he is better at Dark Souls 3 with is feet than most people are with their hands. Just imagine: while some people are still struggling (rightfully) with bosses like Champion Gundyr and the Nameless King, this guy managed to beat both of them with just his feet.
In the meantime, this certainly won't be the last unique way a player will beat Dark Souls 3, such as the player who beat the game without leveling up, rolling or blocking, or another player who beat the original by using only voice commands.
