Man Uses Super Mario Maker Level To Issue Marriage Proposal [VIDEO]

Despite some hiccups in the way Nintendo has handled it, Super Mario Maker has been a massive success, allowing Mario fans of all ages to enjoy the one thing they've likely wanted to do since they played their very first Mario game - make a few levels of their own.

Part of the charm about Super Mario Maker is that a player's level can be exactly the way they want it to be (within the parameters set by Nintendo, of course). This means that levels can vary in all sorts of sizes and shapes, such as generic levels so difficult that they need a specific set of movements to be cleared, or others that may seem like convoluted levels at first, but are actually working calculators. In fact, these levels can even be used to send specific messages such as a marriage proposal to your girlfriend.

Yes, you read correctly. A YouTuber named Retro Shanerator used a Super Mario Maker level to issue a marriage proposal to his girlfriend, Pam. You can check out the life-changing moment, as well as her reaction in the video below.

As you can see from the video, the level starts off as any generic level would, with an assortment of pipes, blocks and bottomless pits to jump over. However, near the end of the level, the typical scenery is replaced by various block formations that spell out the five of the most important words Retro Shanerator has likely said in his entire life: "Pam, will you marry me."

Pam could not stop giggling with excitement upon seeing the message and didn't hesitate to say yes.

Since posting the course info online, Retro Shanerator has received the praise of several within the community for both the inventive level and the successful proposal, and even Nintendo offered some praise on Twitter.

If you're interested in playing the level yourself, the map, titled "Pam Proposal," has a level code of 7A61-0000-0245-8DE8. If you want to see more information about the level then check out the course info page here.
