Square Enix's Hitman suffered a setback, with the announcement that the disc version of the game will be delayed to early 2017 from the previous target date of within this year.
The digital version of the title, however, continues to move ahead with its seven-episode form, with the first episode entitled "Paris" released in March and the second episode entitled "Sapienza" released in April.
Square Enix has announced that the third episode of the game, entitled "Marrakesh," will be launched on May 31 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Hitman's developer, IO Interactive, knew that they had to do something extraordinary with the episode, as it follows the big fashion show event in "Paris" and the expansive locale of "Sapienza." As such, the team decided to make the environment of the episode as one that is teeming with life, with many things to do within alleyways that portray the real-life city in Morocco.
According to Square Enix, the team worked hard to make sure that the "lure of voyeurism" and the "thrill of infiltration" are done just right in the episode, which will feature two targets. The first target will be private banker Claus Strandberg, with the second one being General Reza Zaydan.
Strandberg is located within the highly secure Swedish Consulate, while Zaydan will be secured by an elite team of soldiers while he plans a coup at a temporary headquarters in the middle of the city. Both targets will provide new challenges to gamers, while also coming with stories that will explain the need to take them out.
In addition to the two targets, "Marrakesh" adds a wide range of opportunities and challenges. In addition to the new setting for Contracts Mode, players will also be able to access Elusive Targets and Escalation Contracts that will take place in the Moroccan city. Players only have one chance and limited time to take out an Elusive Target, and for the previous one, only 53 percent of players were able to do so with less than 10 percent getting the Silent Assassin rating.
