There are about two weeks left until EA releases Mirror's Edge Catalyst, but the publisher apparently couldn't wait another day to release the game's launch trailer.
The new trailer, just shy of two minutes long, teases slices of the game's story in between scenes filled with sprinting, sliding, wall running and drop kicking.
Set at an earlier point in protagonist Faith's life, Mirror's Edge Catalyst follows the rooftop-running courier doing her adolescent years.
The trailer doesn't reveal what catalyst pointed Faith in a new direction, but the description EA says the parkour specialist is "forced to start running for something far more important than herself."
Mirror's Edge Catalyst's story starts as Faith has been given a new chance to roam Cascadia's Glass, a city second only to the country's capital Cascadia Prime. But right after she is released from juvenile detention, she bumps heads with a member of the powerful Kruger family and the corporcratic Conglomerate.
"Experience the origin story of Faith and master her momentum to traverse the city and fight back against the oppressive powers," EA says. "Exploring the pristine city districts you'll discover new friends, exciting missions, and hidden secrets. With Social Play you can challenge your friends by creating time trials among the rooftops."
Mirror's Edge Catalyst launches on June 7 in the U.S. and on June 9 in Europe for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Members of EA's Origin Access program will be able to play the game five days earlier.
Origin Access's Play First Trial of Mirror's Edge Catalyst will allow players six hours of play time with the game, 10 missions, two "vast districts" and Social Play features. The clock only ticks off those six hours when gamers are actively playing Mirror's Edge, though players will want to make sure they close game each time they finish a game play session.
For those who participate in the Play First Trial, they'll have the ability to pick up where they left off in the retail version of the game. On top of that, EA Access and Origin Access members can save 10 percent on digital purchases of Mirror's Edge Catalyst and any other EA game.
