The Always On Display feature is only of the highlights of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge flagships, and it just got a neat update.
Users will now be able to schedule when they want their smartphone's display to stay on, based on their necessities. You don't really need the Always On Display squeezing battery life if you're sleeping, for instance, and now you can set specific times for a better experience.
The Always On Display is not really draining your battery life, as it consumers just about 1 percent or less per hour, but it's still nice to have it only when you need it.
As Samsung-centric website SamMobile reports, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners can now set for how long they want the Always On Display to stay active. On the other hand, it would've been useful if Samsung added an option to maintain the feature enabled only when the smartphone is charging, but it did not.
Aside from the Always On Display update, Samsung also improved the Night Clock feature of its Galaxy S7 edge. More specifically, users can now keep the Night Clock enabled for a maximum of 18 hours. It's worth pointing out here that those who have both Night Clock and Always On Display enabled for the same time range, the phone will display the Night Clock.
Moreover, the Dual Clock option is now changed to World Clock in the regular clock app, and it now allows users to add up to four different clocks from multiple regions and enable them at a single time.
The Always on Display update is rolling out now to Galaxy S7 and S7 edge users, and all of the abovementioned treats come in the same package. To get the update manually, head over to your device's Settings > Display > Always On Display, and scroll down until you reach the About section. From there, just hit the update button and you're all set.
