For those gamers interested in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End multiplayer, the microtransaction plan has finally been revealed.
Those transactions will set gamers back anywhere from $5 to $50. The good news, though, is that the points players can buy don't really affect skills, levels and gameplay, but are mostly for cosmetic items, including skins, hats and taunts.
Here's a rundown of what real money can buy you in the game: $5 buys 500 points, $10 buys 1,500 points, $20 gets 3,200 points, $35 gets 6,500 and $50 gets 10,000 points. Obviously, there are some savings factored for those players willing to spend more money up front.
All maps and modes for multiplayer, though, are free and for those wanting to keep their precious cash, even vanity and gameplay in-game store items are unlockable just by playing. Earlier this month, developer Naughty Dog insisted that it planned on keeping the game fair for all players.
"We strongly believe that players must be on an even playing field," lead game designer Robert Cogburn wrote on the PlayStation blog. "To do this, we made Relics, a currency that can only be earned through gameplay and will be able to unlock all DLC, present and future. We will be putting future gameplay items ranging from Mysticals to Boosters into DLC Gameplay Chests. Each Chest will contain new gameplay items."
The developer will also continue releasing new maps, modes and gameplay items at least through 2017. Naughty Dog stressed that all DLC are free and available to everyone on the same day.
"We intend to keep the Uncharted 4 multiplayer experience as fresh as possible for as long as possible," Cogburn wrote. "Over time, Naughty Dog will release a variety of new maps, modes and gameplay items at no additional cost (including Co-op), that will introduce new rules and play styles."
Uncharted 4's multiplayer will revolve around players collecting relics, which are either won by competing in matches or finishing daily challenges. Players can then use those relics on DLC Chests, which contain vanity items or gameplay items. No two chests are alike.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is available exclusively on PlayStation 4 right now.
