The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC is finally set to roll out in a few days' time to the Xbox One and the PC, leveling the playing field with the PS4.
Straight off the bat, the add-on brings four new multiplayer maps, namely Knockout, Rift, Spire and Verge. Interestingly, Verge is a reimagining of the people's favorite map Bonzai from Call of Duty: World at War.
What's more, Eclipse includes a new chapter for Zombies mode called Zetsubou No Shima, providing a continuation for the Origins characters' story.
It's also worth mentioning that Eclipse is the second DLC that landed on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, with the first being Awakening, which went official back in February. Two more expansions are reportedly going to launch in the foreseeable future, but details of the pair are currently sparse at best.
As a standalone product, the DLC will cost $15 on May 19, but it's also a part of the $50 Black Ops 3 DLC season pass available via Steam or the Xbox Store.
It should be pointed out that the PS4 got the expansion pack one month earlier on April 19 because of a time-exclusivity deal with Sony and Activision, and that will also apply to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
On that note, Infinite Warfare is expected to hit the digital storefronts on Nov. 4, and it will be followed by a Legacy Edition, which has a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in the package.
Raven Software is behind the remake of Modern Warfare, but the original makers over at Infinity Ward will oversee development.
