Not to be outdone by Walmart's recent list of the 20 toys kids most want for Christmas, Target has released its own holiday cheat sheet for parents. Target's list includes more than 30 toys kids lust after, and they're helpfully broken down by age bracket. Unlike Walmart, which polled a group of actual kids, Target "partnered with top manufacturers to identify the hottest kids' gifts for the season." So take that as you will.
But Target's not finished. The retailer has also announced new partnerships with specialty toy brands to offer a wide range of toys that shoppers can't usually find in department stores. Lesser known but highly respected brands like Wonderology, Hape, Mindware and more are usually only found in small boutique toy shops, but Target is introducing hundreds of these manufacturers' toys -- many of which are exclusive to Target.
Walmart, you done got served.
These boutique brands typically feature toys with no connections to trends or media tie-ins, instead choosing to focus on educational ideas like discovery and imagination. You'll find musical instruments, wooden toys, science kits, construction sets and more among these toys, and Target has conveniently assembled them in a special section of Target.com called Toy Emporium.
