Japanese video game maker Nintendo will soon roll out an update for Miitomo, the company's social networking app for mobile devices.
Miitomo users who had logged in to the app received a message that confirmed an update is coming soon. The company also listed the details of the new features, which will be included in the upcoming update for Miitomo.
The update will allow users to connect with friends via email. Full details of this feature are not available but hopefully this could come handy for users who do not use a social media account with providers such as Twitter, Google Plus, Facebook or more.
Following the latest update, users will be able to answer the same questions as others when viewing "All Answers." Miitomo users will also be able to edit Miifoto before posting it as a comment.
Apart from the handful of new features, the Miitomo update will also bring speed optimizations for various processes.
Nintendo launched Miitomo in Japan in mid-March and internationally by end of March. On April 27, Nintendo announced that Miitomo - the company's first app for smartphones and tablets - has already crossed 10 million unique users worldwide, which is a good achievement for an app being in use for less than two months.
The app is available as a free download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
"Miitomo is an app from Nintendo that brings out a side of you your friends have never seen before! How? By making a Mii of yourself that's your personal go-between!" per the Apple App Store. "Want your friends to know all about these little insights into your likes, dislikes, or just what you're thinking lately? Your Mii will go visit your friends' Mii characters and tell them!"
iDevice owners need an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running on iOS 7 or later to run Miitomo. The app weighs just less than 62MB and supports a number of languages including English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.
The Android version of the app weighs 32MB and requires a device running on Android 4.1 or later.
Nintendo has not yet confirmed the release date of the update for Miitomo, which means customers will have to wait until the company confirms a roll out date for the social networking mobile app.
