Colorado-based Merrick McKoy allegedly shot his toddler daughter dead after posting the murder plan on Facebook.
22-year old McKoy reportedly shot and killed his daughter Mia McKoy-Phanthavongsa, who was just 19 months old.
The disturbed father posted a photo of him with his baby daughter online on Facebook and made good on a threat he posted on the social networking site, revealing that his relationship with the toddler's mother was the motive.
"I told u I can't live without u lol u thought I was joking now me n Mia out this bitch," McKoy, wrote on his Facebook page before gunning down Mia.
McKoy also posed with puckered lips and an exaggerated expression as he held the powerless and visibly frightened Mia in his arms for one last father-daughter snapshot.
"Don't judge me had no choice," McKoy wrote in his final Facebook post before carrying out the brutal plan.
McKoy broke into the apartment of his ex-girlfriend Kimphone "Kim" Phanthavongsa in Westminster, Colorado on Monday, November 18, armed with a handgun, violating his retraining order in an attempted murder-suicide act. Kim woke up to find McKoy standing over her bed with a handgun, per the police.
The 21-year old mother managed to get away from the jealous ex-boyfriend after a brief struggle and fled to a neighbor's apartment to alert the police.
Law enforcement arrived to hear gunshots and when they went into the apartment, they found that both little Mia and the father had been shot.
"I was on the phone with the officer ... next thing I heard is a gunshot. That's my thought - that he shot my daughter," said Kim.
Both McKoy and the little girl were rushed to a local hospital. Mia was declared dead, whereas McKoy is in critical condition.
