The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is one of the most highly anticipated devices of this year, and more information has now come to light.
The upcoming flagship phablet form Samsung is expected to boast high-end specs and features all around, and should the latest leaks turn out to be accurate, it will indeed be an impressive device.
One leak on Wiebo claims that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will rock a large 5.8-inch display, likely with a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. Under the hood, the phablet will reportedly pack a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor, paired with a hefty 6 GB of RAM.
The Snapdragon 823 is basically an upgraded version of the already-powerful Snapdragon 820, which powers the latest flagships, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Nevertheless, Samsung will likely prepare Exynos-powered versions as well, as the company has a habit of offering two different processing options depending on market.
The Weibo leak also notes that the Galaxy Note 6 will house up to 256 GB of internal storage space and feature a large 4,200 mAh battery to keep things up and running. Other rumored specs and features will reportedly include IP68 certification for dust and water resistance and infrared focus support.
Previous reports claimed that Samsung was testing both flat and curved 5.8-inch QHD displays for the Galaxy Note 6 to decide which one to release. The Weibo leak only mentions the flat display, so maybe Samsung's tests favored the flat version.
Leaving the Weibo leak aside, a separate report from SamMobile claims that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will sport USB Type-C. If this turns out to be accurate, the Galaxy Note 6 will be the very first Samsung device to sport the new feature.
At the same time, the claim is not too farfetched considering that an increasing number of OEMs are now equipping their high-end devices with USB Type-C connectors. LG and HTC already joined the USB-C party with their latest flagships, so it's Samsung's turn.
Samsung is also rumored to equip the Galaxy Note 6 with an iris scanner, and the new generation flagship phablet could make its debut sooner than initially anticipated. While the Galaxy Note 5 (pictured above) arrived in August last year, this year's Galaxy Note 6 is expected to hit the scene in July at the latest.
Keep in mind, however, that it's all still in the rumor state at this point, so make sure to take everything with a dose of skepticism.
