EA To Launch Bonus Events In Three 'Star Wars' Games To Celebrate May The 4th

Star Wars fans are looking forward to May 4, better known as Star Wars Day, as there will be a lot of fanfare surrounding the franchise on that day from companies across various industries.

In case anybody is wondering, May 4 has been tagged as Star Wars Day as the date is a play on one of the franchise's most iconic lines: "May the 4th be with you" from "May the force be with you."

Video game developer and publisher Electronic Arts is one of the companies that will be celebrating with fans on May 4, through bonuses that will be offered on Star Wars games that it has released.

Here are what gamers can expect once Star Wars Day hits.

Star Wars: Battlefront

For players that log into the game on May 4, they will be receiving 4,444 credits which can be used to purchase a variety of items, including the latest Hutt contract that is also part of the promotion.

The new challenge from Jabba the Hutt will require players to first spend 3,500 to 8,000 credits to unlock new bounties. Through completing these bounties, players can acquire the Bacta Bomb Star Card, which will provide a health bonus to gamers and their allies.

For Star Wars fans that have not yet purchased Star Wars: Battlefront, Electronic Arts will be offering a free trial of the game on May through Origin.com. The trial will last for four hours, and will allow players to try out the base game's different modes, maps and mission.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

A free trial for the title's Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion is now available until May 30, beginning from its Chapter 1: The Hunt.

Players that log in to Star Wars: The Old Republic from now until May 4 will be able to receive the M4-I6 Zakuulan Astromech Droid as a mini-pet. Also, from May 3 until May 10, players will be able to earn double experience points, double commendations in player-vs-player mode, double requisitions in Starfighter mode and double Legacy experience.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes

From now until May 5, players will enjoy double the drop rates, not including experience points and crystals, on different game modes. The first mode that will have the double drop rate will be the Cantina Battles.

In-app purchases of crystal bundles are also on sale, with players to receive 25 percent more crystals when they purchase any of the offered bundles.
