There was lots of content we were excited about in April to download from the Google Play Store, including the top two movies downloaded, Star War Wars: The Force Awakens and The Revenant, along with the top downloaded series The Walking Dead season 6 and Fear the Walking Dead season 1.
However, it was the HBO Now app that took the throne to become the most popular app in Google Play as we all got ready to stream the season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones.
When we weren't streaming these movies and TV series, we were getting into the festival state of mind with playlists on Google Play Music like "Coachella 2016 Artists: Indie" and "Summer's Round the Corner."
Prince's Purple Rain became the top purchased album after the singer's untimely death, whereas people were jamming out to The Weeknd's "The Hills," which was the top streamed song.
Disney Crossy Road became our latest obsession, and if you haven't already downloaded this mobile game, take our word that you will become as hooked on this version as the original.
However, now that a new month is around the corner, it's time for new titles to download. There's lots of content coming to the Google Play Store throughout the month of May to look forward to. These include the games Skylanders Battlecast and Star Wars Games Collection, as well as the movie Zoolander 2 and new episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians season 12.
