Mother's Day is approaching and Samsung Canada is offering CA$100 ($80 dollars) off on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in celebration of the event.
This year's Mother's Day will be celebrated on May 8 and Samsung's latest smartphones could be a great present for tech-savvy moms.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge during the 2016 MWC and the handsets are currently among the most-popular mobile phones available in the market. As part of Mother's Day celebration, Samsung Canada is not only offering CA$100 discount on the two new Samsung offerings — the deal also comes with a Kate Spade case for the device, which is worth $54.99.
The Galaxy S7 has a 5.1 inches Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy S7 edge sports a bigger 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen. The display of both the handsets packs in 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution.
Both the Samsung devices have a 12-megapixel rear-facing (f/1.7 lens) and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The phones are available in two models: one with Exynos 8 chip and the other with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The North American version of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge is powered by the Snapdragon 820 SoC.
The handsets have 4 GB of RAM and are available with 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage options. Some customers may find the storage capacity limited but they will never have to delete files because they can increase the storage capacity to up to 200 GB with a microSD card.
The Samsung offerings are IP-68 certified, which means that they are dust proof and water resistant for 30 minutes in 1.5-meter-deep water.
The Galaxy S7 has a 3,000 mAh battery, while a 3,600 mAh battery powers the Galaxy S7 edge.
"Both Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have bigger batteries letting you watch your favorite TV shows and listen to music for hours on end. The custom CPU and highly advanced GPU ensure the batteries are used to their full potential," says Samsung.
The battery in the new Galaxy devices support fast charging and Samsung claims that the Galaxy S7 can be charged within 90 minutes while the Galaxy S7 edge take about 100 minutes to be charged.
The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge both run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, which is packed with new features.
Customers should note that this is a limited time offer and will only run until May 8. The offer will be available through select carriers, retailers and Samsung Experience Stores, according to Samsung Canada's website.
